Os Concentrick são o projecto pessoal de Tim Green, músico essencialmente de estúdio, membro dos Fucking Champs e inspirado pela demência hipnótica de uns Psychic TV e pelo art-rock alemão dos Cluster. Mas se os seus álbuns são integralmente instrumentais e compostos a partir da electrónica, o sabor que fica deste “Aluminum Lake”, acabado de editar na Drag City, 5 anos depois do último disco, é um sabor a pós-rock. Mas também se as atmosferas do pós-rock marcam o início do álbum, a surpresa chega quando ao terceiro tema, de seu nome White Bear, se instala um rock mais musculado e cheio de referências ao rock pesado dos anos 70 com os riffs a dominar a cena e um claro enquadramento na nova cena do metal, com Pelican e Red Sparowes à cabeça, mas também muito inspirado no power-rock dos Trans Am. A fase final de “Aluminum Lake” volta a ser marcada pelo prog-rock que tem sido desde sempre a imagem de marca deste side-project dos Fucking Champs. Em suma, este é um disco curto e despretensioso, mas que por vezes tem laivos épicos. Uma viagem.
